Draft for legal review. This is a working newsroom policy, not a finished legal instrument. Have counsel review it before relying on it.
Privacy Policy
This draft describes the launch site. It is not a finished privacy policy. Counsel should review it before the site is treated as live for the public.
Who we are
Freight Broker News, 6400 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38197, United States. Email: hi@freightbrokernews.com.
What the forms collect
The contact form collects a name, email address, topic, and message. Submit News collects a name, email, optional company and website, a category, a proposed headline, a description, a source link, and optional notes about materials. The newsletter form collects an email address and a consent checkbox.
A hidden field is used to catch automated submissions. We do not want you to fill it. We do not store IP addresses in the submission file. An address may be used briefly, in memory, to slow repeated attempts.
Where it goes
Submissions are written to a private inbox on the server as files for the newsroom. They are not published. If a transactional email provider is configured, a copy of the note may also be emailed to the desk. If a newsletter provider is configured, the briefing address is sent to that provider. If it is not configured, the address stays in the local newsletter file and is not a live subscription. We do not publish a subscriber count.
Cookies and analytics
The launch site does not run third-party advertising cookies and does not include a third-party analytics tag. The host may keep ordinary server logs.
How long
Inbox files and the local newsletter list stay until the newsroom deletes them or you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Write hi@freightbrokernews.com to ask for a copy or deletion of a form submission or a newsletter address. We will honor a straightforward request. A provider that already received an address has to be updated there as well.
Children
This site is not directed at children.
