Draft for legal review. This is a working newsroom policy, not a finished legal instrument. Have counsel review it before relying on it.
Corrections
If a published story has a factual error, write hi@freightbrokernews.com with the subject line Correction. Include the story URL, the passage, the correction, and a source a reader could check.
The desk reviews the note. A grammar nit and a wrong dollar figure are not the same kind of fix, but both get a look.
When a published story changes in a way readers should see, the status becomes updated, the updated date changes, and a note is added at the top of the story. The original publication date stays. A story that should not have run is marked retracted and removed from the public site and from the public sitemap.
Company-confirmed financings carry their limit in the story itself. If a party later corrects an amount, a date, or a name, that correction is appended. The old figure does not stay unlabeled.
This process is a newsroom practice. It is not a promise of a particular legal remedy. Counsel should review this page before launch.
