Freight Broker NewsThe Business and Technology Behind Freight Brokerage.

Draft for legal review. This is a working newsroom policy, not a finished legal instrument. Have counsel review it before relying on it.

Editorial Policy

Freight Broker News covers freight brokerage: the businesses, the software sold to them, the capital around them, and the people named in that reporting. The desk is in Memphis. The publication is independent of the companies it writes about.

What runs

Stories move through a status: draft, pending verification, ready for review, approved, scheduled, published, updated, or retracted. A story appears on the public site and in the public sitemap only when its status is published or updated and its verification is either verified against public sources or confirmed to this publication by the company and the investor. Scheduled stories stay down until the publication date. Retracted stories come off the site.

How claims are handled

A company metric, a customer result, and a founder’s growth figure are attributed to that source. They are not restated as facts this desk measured. Quotes are used only when they appear in a public document or were given to this publication, and they are attributed. The desk does not invent interviews, customers, or press releases.

If a financing is confirmed to Freight Broker News by the parties and is not on an independent wire, the story says that in the deck and again near the facts. Silence is not filled in. A round stage, a use of funds, or an investor’s assets under management stays out of a story unless it was actually confirmed for publication.

Financing coverage is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or finance anything.

Names

Similar company names get a disambiguation when readers could merge them. A venture firm that shares a word with a public corporation is not treated as an affiliate of that corporation unless a source says so.

Bylines

Launch stories carry a desk byline, Freight Broker News Editorial. A personal byline is used only for a real correspondent. We do not publish fictional authors.

Tips

Submit News and the contact form deliver material for review. They do not publish it. A tip without a checkable source is a lead, not a story.

The technology guide is not paid placement and not a ranking. Any future advertising or sponsored story has to follow the advertising policy and has to be labeled. Editorial selection is not for sale.
